Subject: Great sound
The recording is excellent. I am so thankful for the tapers.

I had a blast at this concert, and rarely listen to it because it hurts so good.

Thanks for the recording.

Quality is excellent, crowd is wild, jams are tasty. Last bit of the show is where it really shines IMO

Great show and recording. Kudos to taper.
The crowds sounds insane on this one. Wish I could have been there in person

Subject: A terrific band whose early material is spectacular,
Umphrey's McGee had by this time become no less talented but much less accessible, in my opinion. If you like complicated riffs, they still rock. If you like tunes, not so much.

I agree with you on the basis that you are a huge gigantic douche. Is that an objective observation for you? Either way you look at it bud, experiencing a live show individual of everyone else's perception is SUBJECTIVE. Whining about reviews in my opinion is poor form. Why does it matter to you that someone who was at this wonderful show posted the same rating as you? The problem you have with people posting reviews is that no one else comes close to your intuitive douchiness. I nominate you the ONE UP GUY, you know the person who just can't be happy with something, either by default or the fact you literally have to bad mouth something in order to feel happy. CHeers to everyone else who either went this show or has listened to the set, truly energetic.

Well, last night, I sold my umphreys pollock #89 of 350. That, I guess, right there tells you how much anticipation went into this show. Plus it was the green apple music fest. GGGGGrrreat! enough said peace

Subject: a great recording, a great show
i created an account just to review this show. this is a phenomenal crowd recording. there's enough of the crowd to give you the "live feel" but it's never annoying, there's very little audible chit-chat, and you can hear everything the band is doing throughout. for much of it, it really feels like a mixed live recording, with an audience-mic setup.

concerning the show itself - absolutely the best UM show i've come across, and maybe one of my favorite live shows from any band (FYI, i wasn't at this show, so my review isn't tainted by first-hand partiality). i'd definitely suggest buying the umlive FLACs, and keeping them as a companion to this recording. the official cuts are great for delving into what the guys are doing on stage, and this one makes you feel the live show. it's a hell of a thing when the crowd explodes at the end of the big NTF guitar solo.

enough of the ass-kissing, and a word for my own agenda: PLEASE STOP POSTING REVIEWS WITH RANKINGS BASED ONLY ON THE FACT THAT "I WAS THERE!!"...judge the recordings and shows on their own merit. if you were there, then keep it to yourself. it's very difficult to take a review seriously when you admit your opinion isn't objective. stop making it all about you!!!

WOW! I've only made it through the 1st set so far... but holy shite!! I've avoided U.M. for a while amongst reports that they were "moe-ish" (not a huge compliment), but this is my first real exposure to them, and I'm pretty much blown away. After hearing Nothing Too Fancy, I immediately downloaded one of the soundboard shows, and listened to it twice. Cool stuff.

And now it looks like I missed their Colorado run by a few days. Aaaaarrrrggggghhh! Oh well, next time I guess.

The energy and flow of this show are excellent. The sound is also amazing. N2F>The Haunt>Padgett's>syncopated strangers is amazing... some of its real techno like some is streight up rock n roll.... I also love the classical teases at the end of the first part of Der Bluten Kat... like I said Umph will never fail you!

best UM show i've heard on archive. i would've probably maxed out if i were at this show by the sound of things. UM might be the sickest band on the planet right now. NTF... wowowow. plus i love how they tie things up later in the show. what a jam fest. download this show. umphrey's never dissapoints. this is the disco giddyup jumpkick you've been needing!

In a little over 5 years as an UMPHAN i don't know if I've heard much better. Jajunk > Divisions to open, are you fricken serious!?!?!? Probably best version of Der Bluten Kat I've heard, Nothing too Fancy was tight, and you've gotta love a little band on the run. Sound is incredible, I heard no big sound glitches. DL now and you won't be disappointed.

I was very skeptical of midwest fluffage, but this show is every bit as good as everyone says it is. If you are new to the band, start here!

Subject: best show ever possibly?!?!
I was a little unimpressed with Umphreys lately, especially since the St Paddy's show in South Bend. But they fully restored my faith when they returned to the Vic! I was a little outta my mind that night but I knew something awesome was in the making during JAJUNK. This show was PHENOMENAL!! Highly recommended.

When I went to the vic to see umphrey's play on the 21st i didnt know what to expect. It had been my 2nd time seeing them in the year (seen them in 2006 once at 10klf and never before that) The previous show I saw was a march 14th show at the canopy club. They came out with little vocals and mostly progressive jam. I was blown away and thought nothing could top that umphreys show. I WAS WRONG! As soon as Umphreys came out for the 1st set everyone went crazy. The vic was packed and I was right in the front row with a great view of the whole band. When they opened with the ja junk i knew this was going to be a good show. It topped almost any other concert i've ever been to or even heard. The setlist is great but the jams were even better. They keep getting better and better and i cant wait to see them again!!!!!

sound quality is great and the show is one of the best i've seen. um is on fire right now. stop reading reviews and download this already
Reviewer: JimmyStewartInTheKitchen - - May 2, 2007
i was at this show..7th UM experience..the VIC was definitely about to collapse from all the phans dancing like this was the last UM show. the interaction between the phans and the band was remarkable. UM was just loving to be back in the Chi and they knew they had to pump out an awesome show. there was never really a boring moment the entire show..i actually own the UMLive recording of the show and haven't listened to this version yet..all i can say is that there is basically very little crowd noise in the recording. i would have to say owning this show is better than owning their new album

Saw Umphrey's in Rochester, NY and could not believe the energy...the show was out of control and I cannot get enough of these guys. Just started downloading this show a few minutes ago and I am already blown away...Divisions is the shit and Milk sounds absolutely ridiculous....truly amazing.

Subject: Its simple
If you are a true UM fan just dl this, plain and simple.

This was the first UM show I went to. I like their music, but by far not the biggest fan. I was in town to see the Disco Biscuits. We decided that this show was a good idea. Well good idea is an understatement. This show was epic. I have seen alot of music, but this may rank up there in performances. The band was clearly on. Thye hit everynote, sound, beat, whatever. The place had such a high energy level. When Triple Wide played and Kang, Magner, and Aaron came out it was amazing. Plus did anyone mentiond they were beerbonging of the second story of the place. To put it simply this is a GREAT show. If your rate is lower than 5 you know nothing. If you like music, then you will love this show. Opened the show with Jajunk and then after the Band on the Run encore just get right back into it. These guys knew they havent been in Chicago for a long time, so it was a must they put on a good show, but no one expected this. Thanks for taping this show. (Your the man) The quality is great and I cant stop listnening. You really can hear how much the crowd is in to it. Second set blew me away. Opening with Snucka. Plus the Dr. Feelgood was amazing. They played just too much good music. I'd rather own this shown than any CD. DOWLOAD IT NOW!

Subject: good GOD y'all - outta control!
hometown Umph - just listen to the crowd roar when Divisions starts!! - best Milk I've EVER heard, so tight - NTF is a facemelter - the entire crowd is singing along with every song, but otherwise not chatty = very attentive and totally amped. even the guests seemed up for the challenge - just tension and release all night, shreddin n groovin, the perfect storm - then zipping up all the open-ended tunes on the way to a huge Jajunk finish

if you can't get into this show, rip off your ears right now and throw them away because you don't know what they're good for anyway - this show gets fifty stars
